First actions made!

July 2026

Partners during the first months aimed to create practical, accessible, and evidence-based strategies to support their child’s Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), emotional literacy, self-regulation, and Theory of Mind (ToM) development, so they can empower the parents of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) children.

Research consistently highlights that parental involvement is one of the strongest predictors of positive social-emotional outcomes for DHH children. The training is structured across five modules, each containing 3 hours of in-person learning and 1 hour of online content, resulting in a 20-hour curriculum. Each module is developed by a partner organisation with expertise in SEL, ToM, play therapy, or DHH education.

By the end of the programme, parents will have gained the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to confidently support their child’s emotional growth, strengthen family relationships, and foster a nurturing home environment.
